Marvin Mitchell, born on December 13, 1990, became a resident of Richardson in June 2016. He was a strong rider who regularly biked from his residence near Greenville & Campbell to his job at O’Reilly Auto Parts on Avenue K in Plano for nearly seven years. On March 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., the Richardson Police Department responded to a crash in the 2500 block of N. Plano Rd. The driver of a SUV was traveling northbound in the center lane of N. Plano Rd. and made a lane change to the right lane where Mitchell, on his bike, was also traveling northbound. Moments after making the lane change, the driver struck Mitchell from behind. Mitchell passed away from his injuries at the crash scene. He was 32 years old.
